Privacy policy
This explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what I do with it. I've kept it as short and plain as I can.

Who I am
This website belongs to AP Web Studio, which is run by me, Pavel, as a sole trader based in Spalding, Lincolnshire, UK. I'm responsible for the personal information described in this policy (the "controller" under UK data protection law).
If you have any questions about your information, email me at info@apwebstudio.co.uk.
What I collect
When you use the enquiry form, I receive:
- your name
- your email address
- your current website address, if you add one
- the type of help you're looking for, if you choose one
- your message, and anything you choose to include in it
When you email me directly, I receive your email address, your name and whatever you write.
If we go on to work together, I'll also keep the information needed to carry out the work and for my business and tax records.
Please don't send passwords or payment details through the form or by email. If I need access to a website or account, we'll agree a safe way to do it.
How I use it
I use the information you send to reply to your enquiry, answer your questions and, if you ask me to, prepare a quote or proposal.
The legal basis for this is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me and, where you're asking about working with me, taking steps at your request before we agree any work.
I don't add enquiries to a mailing list, I don't send marketing emails, and I don't sell or rent anyone's information.
How the enquiry form works
When you send the form, your message is passed from this website's hosting server to my business email inbox. It isn't saved in a database on the website.
To protect the form from spam, the website keeps a short-lived, scrambled (hashed) version of the internet (IP) address that a message was sent from, so it can limit how many messages are sent in a short time. This record isn't linked to your name or message and is discarded after an hour.
Who I share it with
I only share your information with the services needed to run this website and my email, such as my web hosting and email providers (and, if used, an email delivery service that sends the form messages to my inbox). They handle it only to provide those services to me.
Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where that happens, UK data protection law requires suitable safeguards to be in place.
I'll also share information if I'm legally required to.
How long I keep it
If your enquiry doesn't lead to any work, I keep our emails for up to two years, so I can refer back to them if you get in touch again, and then delete them.
If we work together, I keep the information needed for my business and tax records for as long as the law requires.
You can ask me to delete your enquiry sooner at any time.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
This website doesn't currently use cookies, analytics or advertising tracking. The fonts and images are served from this website itself rather than from third-party services.
If I add analytics or other tracking in future, I'll update this policy first and ask for your consent wherever the law requires it.
The portfolio links to other businesses' websites. Once you leave this site, their own privacy policies apply.
Server logs
Like most websites, the hosting server automatically records basic technical details of each visit, such as the IP address, browser type, date and time, and the pages requested. These logs are used to keep the website secure and working, and are managed by my hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the personal information I hold about you
- correct information that's wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- restrict how I use it, or stop using it
- send your information to you or someone else in a common format, where this applies
To do any of these, email info@apwebstudio.co.uk. I'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first and I'll do my best to put it right.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, for example if I add analytics to the website, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
Tell me about your project
A few lines are enough: what your business does and what you need help with. Include your current website if you have one.
